Floracruise Posted November 26, 2009 #1 Share Posted November 26, 2009 We've booked an independent excursion (just the 6 of us, with a guide) to do Altun Ha, the Mayan Wells restaurant for lunch AND the Baboon Sanctuary. The tour company seems to believe we will have time for all of these stops. We'll be on the Carnival Legend. Can anyone advise whether this is too much to comfortably cram into our Belize day? I am getting a bit nervous about cutting it close to the last tender.
Rare crewsweeper Posted November 26, 2009 #2 Share Posted November 26, 2009 It depends upon what time (ships time) your excursion is leaving the pier area. It's usually not a problem to "sneak" in to the early ticket line for tender tickets on either the first or second tender. However, sometimes when you get to the pier, independent operators have you wait for others on the tour to arrive. That may cut into your time. If based on the tour's indicated start time (leaving the pier) adjusted for ship's time and total estimated time of the tour, you can't be back one hour (ship's time) before the last tender, I wouldn't risk it unless it's a ship sponsored excursion. Too many close calls in Belize. Note: currently Belize is 1 hour behind Carnival Legend time as Carnival does not adjust to local port time. Wear a watch, don't use your cell phone's clock.
