California Native Posted November 26, 2009 #1 Share Posted November 26, 2009 Hi Everyone... Will the photo department onboard AZ Journey... take your memory card and burn it to a disc for you??? If so, what is the cost? We will be traveling with a netbook, I will have several USB sticks for storage... but we like to take an extra step and burn the photos to a disc, that way we have several back up systems so we never lose them We can't store them ON the netbook, because the hard drive isn't big enough (we take A LOT of photos) Obviously, this is one drawback of carrying a netbook instead of a laptop I've done this on RCCL,Celebrity, Princess, and Holland America Thanks
NorthernStar Posted November 27, 2009 #2 Share Posted November 27, 2009 Yes, I saw they offer such service, however I do not remember the cost.
greeneg Posted November 27, 2009 #3 Share Posted November 27, 2009 You might also look at picking up a USB external hard drive and plugging that into the notebook. I've found that works well for me.
California Native Posted November 27, 2009 Author #4 Share Posted November 27, 2009 Thanks for the responses! I've decided to put the external dvd drive on my Christmas List :D I figure in the long run it will be less expensive than paying a cruise line to burn multiple photo cd's for me I know other cruiselines charge between 8-15USD per CD for this service! Sadly, no store in our local area has these drives as a Black Friday special I also want to suggest when you travel, to always pack a few blank CD's or DVD's with you even if you don't have a lap top.. On my Alaska cruise on Princess... there were a few members on our roll call with REALLY expenisve camera equipment that were burning discs of their stunning whale and bear shots for a few of us .... A priceless gift in many ways! :D We just provided a disc or usb stick to them
