Rare 4cats4me Posted November 29, 2009 #1 Share Posted November 29, 2009 I just wanted to post that on Hyatt's own web site this property is only $69 a night for Feb. 12th. Usually we stay in Long Beach before our cruise, but there isn't a whole lot available this year, and San Pedro hotels are not coming up on Priceline or Hotwire either, rather, they're $127 to $153 per night for starters, so even though the Hyatt is 24 miles from the cruise port, we thought it's well worth it to stay here. :D
jklmrm Posted November 29, 2009 #2 Share Posted November 29, 2009 Wow! That's a great rate for this hotel. It's a very nice (large) property about 2 miles from Disneyland and Downtown Disney, and about half an hour to the port in San Pedro. There are several restaurants in walking distance, and a Target across the street. Hope you have a great cruise!
Rare 4cats4me Posted November 30, 2009 Author #3 Share Posted November 30, 2009 That's good info to know. The $69 rate is a construction rate, but that's only Mon-Fri 9-5 and we will be arriving on a Friday at 3 p.m., so figured construction won't matter to us. We also need two rooms, so the savings is significant. Glad to know there's a lot of restaurants within walking distance.
jklmrm Posted November 30, 2009 #4 Share Posted November 30, 2009 Also, the Hyatt has a free shuttle to Downtown Disney, which has several good restaurants, entertainment, shopping, etc. It's pretty lively on Friday nights.
Fredr Posted November 30, 2009 #5 Share Posted November 30, 2009 Hello, That is a very good rate for a Hyatt. Be prepared though for any extra charges that may seem outrageous (and are). For example the Hyatt Regencyin Huntington Beach is a beautiful hotel in every aspect. The extra charges were $16.50 per day for a "resort fee" and $25.00 per day for valet parking. There is no self parking at this hotel and all of the street parking is metered. Priceline did not tell me about any of the extra fees. I am not advising you to avoid Priceline or Hyatt Hotels but just be prepared for extra fees.
