southt00 Posted November 30, 2009 #1 Share Posted November 30, 2009 Hi: Just researching for our upcoming cruise. First time with a child. Can you confirm if I have read the Florida law correctly? My 4 year old can ride in a cab as long as she is belted in? No booster required? http://www.leg.state.fl.us/Statutes/index.cfm?App_mode=Display_Statute&Search_String=&URL=CH0316/SEC613.HTM&Title=-%3E2001-%3ECH0316-%3ESection%20613 Please advise. T. Marie51 Posted December 1, 2009 #3 Share Posted December 1, 2009 You might look at the "family cruises" section. Maybe someone there will know.
SeaPA1 Posted December 1, 2009 #4 Share Posted December 1, 2009 Your interpretation of the law is correct. 3 & under - car seat required 4&5 - car seat or booster recommended but not required (we are one of only a few states that does not require booster seats for children in that age range); seat belt IS required While it's legal, it's generally not thought to be safe. If you have a booster seat & can manage, I'd bring it with me - just my $.02.
