Are those solar panels I see?

I have never noticed this on any other ship.

 

An aerial video of Oasis shows what looks to be solar panels on the horizontal surfaces surrounding the funnels.

 

I haven't heard anyone talk about these. I wonder how much juice these panels generate.

Yes, those are solar panels. Part of the reason Oasis was able to be "Green" certified.

Yeah they have been mentioned multiple times here on the forum, especially during her arrival where most people noticed them. They were later confirmed by one of the RCI execs to be Solar Panels.

There are 14 sq. metres of Solar Panels for which they calculate the output on sunny days to be 80 KW. They are able to run the lights for the entire expanse of the Royal Promenade with that energy.

Looks like the got the idea that started on the Solstice and expanded it....the Solstice could use the energy obtained to power the elevators only....AWESOME they got even more on the Oasis :)
