Rent Vehicles or take a taxi

There are six of us....the only vehicle to rent that fits six is a huge 12 passenger van, which is too big. I made reservations to rent two small vehicles instead. Now I'm wondering if it would make more sense for all of us to just take a taxi. For anyone who has been to Curacao....which makes more sense...rent or taxi? We plan to go to a couple of beaches for sure...no other firm plans. Any problems with parking at the beaches or getting around?
