New Cruiser to be - several questions????

I have a C1 card, and have 130,000 points saved. Got notice the card is changing to Sea Miles, and am considering booking some of my points before the 5/31 deadline with C1.

 

1. Can you use more than one Best Cruise Offer redemption, such as a $1,000 and a $500 reward towards one cruise? I have been told NO, however, we had friends that did it, but they did not exceed the hightest $1,000 limit in total. What if I book 2 rooms?

 

2. Deciding whether or not to bring kids (eeeekkk!) - how are the 3rd and 4th guest rates? husband wants to leave them home.

 

3. I've read much about using Fun Rewards with other TA or Discount Companies. I gather it is BEST to book wherever I want, and THEN redeem my point through Carnival????? This is all so confusing.

 

4. If I book a cruise and it goes lower, I can ask for the lower rate? How does this work?

 

The Boards have been wonderful - still trying to figure this all out. Thanks for any assistance you can provide.
