Can anyone recommend a private tour company?

what kind of tour are you looking for, and by private, do you mean just you and your family, or a company that dosnt book on the ship?

We are looking for a non cruise ship shore excursion with a reputable company. It would be for the two of us or I will look for some people to join us from the boards or maybe we could join another tour already formed. Too bad we are not on the same ship but let's first see if we are ever in the same island at the same time. I have already booked some private tours.

Do you know of a sail tour to Buck Island? That looks pretty awesome!

we were trying to do some zip lining but are these coordinated thru the cruise lines, other than that we wanted to do some site seeing, just wanted to know if anyone knew of a good tour guide

Private Island: You can do island tours by taxi stopping at spots like Whim Plantation, Laweatz Family Museum, Rum Factory. Or you can do a jeep tour http://www.stxtantantours.com/ or an ATV tour http://www.geckosislandadventures.com/. There are a few boats that head out to Buck Island. Thanks for the website info!! I will keep them on file to review closer to my ship sailing.

But I guess like many of the islands that I can most likey book a tour getting off the ship for a reasonable cost??

You can walk off the ship and get an island tour by taxi as there are typically taxis lined up. Rates are set: "Sightseeing Tours: One to four people $100, five or more $20 each. Limited time of tour: 3 hours." That is from the published taxi rate sheet.

 

The other types of tours you likely want to book in advance if you have decided that is what you want to do.

As Islander has mentioned, there are many options. If you are looking to do something NOT booked on the ship, your best option would be gotostcroix.com and then compare the options from the ship list. she mentioned the Taxi tours that will take you around the island. She also mentioned Ta Tan tours. but the jeep tour with TAan Tan is booked on the ship so im not sure that it would be available. the ATV tour is not booked on the ship and can be booked when you get off the ship but sometimes dont have space, sao maybe consider prebooking online at geckosislandadventures.com. YTou can also do a full day adventure for a cheaper price with an ATv tour, Jet ski rental, kayaking and snorkeling.

 

Buck island is fun, there are some companys that book on the ship and others that dont. my reccomendation is caribbean sea adventures.
