Dog guides on ships

Derfette and I went on a cruise with another couple whose husband was blind and had a service dog. The dog is advanced in age so it has lost some of its ability. I led the dog around the ship. Carnival put out a rug but the dog didn't now what to do-do with it for a couple of days and had a couple of accidents. Also there is not much grass in the Caribbean.

To the one who said they put a rug down on the balcony - do you have a sight dog? I think that is great. I am a dog lover and if I saw one on my cruise, I would want to pet it which I know is a no-no since they are protecting the owner.

I had the pleasure of sailing on that cruise with bunny and erin and spending some quality time together. Pam Kane (pamda on the cruise boards), the author of the article was also on the cruise and we got to be friends. Unfortunately Pam passed away last year. THanks for bringing back some great memories!!
