WDWfan13 Posted January 12, 2005 #1 Share Posted January 12, 2005 Are there pay phones near the port? If so, how do they work? I have read that some of the international pre-paid calling cards don't work in some of the ports...We have animals that I need to call and check on. WDWfan13 Posted January 12, 2005 Author #3 Share Posted January 12, 2005 Thanks for the link. The information was pretty vague, could you post when you get back please? We also will have my son's friend with us who will need to call home, so I want to budget money if it's going to be expensive.
serene56 Posted January 12, 2005 #4 Share Posted January 12, 2005 I took my neice on a 7 day cruise with my family. The worse thing I did was let her call home on a Thursday. She was more homesick after that call then she was the begining of the week. She was having a ball---untill I let her call home. The rest of the week she was in a stupor. Has your sons friend been away from home for that period of time before?? There will be payphones. I suggest asking your cabin steward or dining staff where to go for the best possible rates. Also ask those people where the best deal to go for phone cards will be. Afterall --they use that service more then passengers do.
WDWfan13 Posted January 13, 2005 Author #5 Share Posted January 13, 2005 serene56, Great idea, I will do that. My son's friend is 15 and is more excited about leaving his parents at home than going on the cruise! I don't think that he realizes that he is just trading his parents in for another set of parents on the trip(but you know, who could be worse than your own parents when you're a teenager?).
