Life jackets on America's Cup?

Marysunshine,

They do provide life jackets if you wish but you will definitely NOT need them. The boats used are not small sailing boats. They are in the neighborhood of 50 ft. The boats are sailed by very experienced crew members several of which when we were there were professional sailboat racers between gigs. It is an absolute blast! Don't forget to buy the photo they'll take from a Zodiac that will be following you. How they got such a good shot while bouncing all over the place is beyond me. Also, they have a free killer rum punch at their shop after the sail. Have a great time.

cruztime: I think I understand what you are saying, but no experienced sailor would tell you that you do not need a life jacket while sailing on a boat. You do not necessarily have to wear them (some places are more casual than others), but why on earth would someone who cannot swim not wear one? Anything can happen, even on the finest sailing ships with the finest, most experienced crews. Even experienced, strong swimmers who sail often wear them.
