Should I be aware of places not to go due to hurricane distruction?

I know some of the islands have been hit hard...I'm new to this board and have seen some references to the hurricanes affecting GC. Anything I should know before booking a tour? Like, for instance....is Stingray City still bustling with Rays? Or is it cleared out and a disappointment? (I don't mean to be disrespectful of Grand Cayman...I've been to that island a couple of times and its georgous....I guess I'm just wondering how they faired during hurricane season.)

Also...anyone know the typicaly weather there in March? I looked up in Weather.com and it didn't really tell me the average rainfall and the "rainy seasons"...I'm very paranoid about rain on my vacation if you couldn't tell!!

why? its one of the things we cant change so its one of the things I dont check. Sure I will be disappointexd in the rain but it wont change nothing. We are going in February and will take an umbrella. I dont think it rains all day and all night kinda rain.

As far as the Stingrays-- I been reading great reports of people who have been there since the hurricanes. Some of the areas is still rebuilding. The place is low on rental cars.. etc.etc

I certainly don't lose sleep over it....I was more just wondering....I like to be mentally prepared for what will come...(although that's not always possible). I went on my honeymoon to Jamaica and knew it was rainy season. I didn't let that affect my good time, but I defintiely planned around knowing that like clockwork, the clouds would come over us around noon and not go away until 4 or 5ish....BUT I didn't care...cause I knew to expect that....that's all! Just wondering...no major worries....

Stingray City still great. Beaches are actually better than before Hurricane. Most debris has been cleared away but reconstruction is ongoing. March and April are actually the driest months so you should be fine. The rainy season is from May to October.

In Dec. we toured the east end of the island, the end that really got walloped by Ivan, with Earthfoot tours, the tour that Geddes mentioned below. As a matter of fact, Geddes was our fabulous tour guide (he gives a great tour guys....). (HI GEDDES! Good to see you on the board - I hope you caught my 'highly recommended' post that was about you - see Jan 4th postings on page 2 of this board),

The destruction is unbelievable on the eastern end end of the island, it took my breath away. The roads are good though, and the natural sights such as the Wreck of the Ten Sails and the Watlers Cemetery are still intact - some restaurants were not, but that was OK as Geddes brought us a delicous lunch made by his mother-in-law! Finding a washroom that was open proved to be a bit of a challenge, but I survived until we got back to Georgetown.

The next week we were back in the Caymans, we did the Stingray City thing, and yes, the rays are VERY plentiful. An awesome experience I might add!
