ROLL CALL-March 4th, 2010, Silver Whisper, Voyage 4006, Hong Kong to Singapore

Good evening from Toronto,:)

I've posted this before and had no reply. I'm hoping if was just because I posted it too early. We are sailing in about 70 days.

Are there any CC members on this voyage? Hong Kong to Singapore March 4-15th, 2010. Voyage 4006 on the beautiful Silver Whisper.

We are starting our vacation in Manila with 2 nights at the Shangri-la Makati and then 3 nights in Boracay, Philippines at Discovery Shores. From there we fly to Hong Kong and reside at the Four Seasons. We will dine at the 3 star Michelin Chinese restaurant at the FS. Can't imagine a 3 star Michelin Chinese restaurant so we had to check this out. On March 4th, we board the Silver Whisper, Suite 531, for 11 nights. We've booked most of our tours and excursions already. In Singapore we are staying at the highly recommended St Regis Singapore which is located near Orchard Road. We haven't decided where to dine in Singapore it's between Iggy's, Les Amis or Gunthers. It might be Gunthers since it's located near Raffles Hotel and will give us the chance to have a pre-dinner cocktail (famous Singapore Sling) at the Long Bar at Raffles. Can't go to Singapore without visiting Raffles famous Hotel.

Would be nice to meet fellow Cruise Critic fans.

Don't be shy! Who's joining us!

Happy Holidays everyone!

Good afternoon from chilly Toronto, Canada.

Happy New Year Cruise Critic Friends,

Still haven't heard if anyone is joining us on Voyage 4006, Hong Kong to Singapore.

Could we be the only CC members onboard?

Bon Voyage!

Scott, I wish you a very pleasant cruise. This itinerary is great. I would have booked it, had I not paid for a PG cruise in the FP for Feb. 2010. This cruise which combines Thailand and Vietnam, I cannot find another similar one by silversea throughout 2010 - 2011. Koh Samui is my favourite island for vacation... even the airport is special. As to the chinese restaurant at FS, I had once a dinner there, that was before they honoured it Michelin 3 star. I have to say I could afford to stay in the FS, but could not afford to eat in that restaurant. I chose the somewhat less expensive food, and it was difficult for me to give comment. Not sure if you hear, the local gourmet industry was a bit "shocked" by the outcome of the michelin prize for chinese restaurant in Hongkong and Macau. Anyway, I was a bit surprised to find, next to our dining table were a big family from the Casino tycoon Stanley Ho and his wives and children.

Scott, looks like you'll be alone on your cruise, and we'll be alone on ours right after. (i've rarely found anyone on any cruise who posts on Cruise Critic - most of the posters seem to be the same ones over and over, and i'm included in that grouping).

Hi Hobar,

Happy New Year!

I was thinking the same thing. Can you imagine the service we'll get since we're the only ones on the ship. Can't wait.

Perhaps we'll see each other......like ships passing in the night. You'll be boarding and we'll be disembarking. What pre-cruise hotel are you staying at in Singapore. We're staying at the St. Regis.

Won't be long now!

Bon Voyage!

yes, imagine the great service. i am so excited about this itinerary. been to Singapore before so i know it's a nice city. we went to Raffles for a drink - birthplace of the Singapore Sling -- glad we went, but just to say we went, but underwhelmed. you'll have fun to just relax and walk around the city (actually, the country). we'll be at the Shangri La.

Hi Scott. I hope you enjoy your trip even if there are no other cruise critic people aboard with you. It sounds like a fantastic trip and that you have it well planned.

We are doing Hong Kong to Bangkok later this year on the Shadow and have done previous trips from Singapore to Phuket and a (mostly) land trip in China. We have loved each one.

:) Only 3.5 weeks till we board the Silver Whisper in Hong Kong to Singapore. Voyage 4006, March 4-15. So far no Cruise Critic members are joining us.

My friend Hobar, is boarding the Whisper as we disembark and there doesn't seem to be any CC members on his voyage either. Voyage 4007, Singapore to Dubai.

From what I hear from SS, Voyage 4006 has only 15 suites available so it sounds like a fairly full ship.

We are looking forward to sailing on the Whisper. Has anyone been on the Whisper lately? Are there any of the old timer SS staff onboard? Love to run into some of the ole favourites. They are like family.

Happy Sailing!

I am cruising just after you! Dubai to Dubai March 30th. It will be my first with Silversea and I can't wait. What are you packing for non-formal nights? Dark suits for us and tux on formal night. Ugh, good thing Emirates does not charge for luggage like the others.

Enjoy India!!! The country and it's people are beautiful.
