jackdiamond Posted December 20, 2009 #1 Share Posted December 20, 2009 I would greatly appreciate the impressions of anyone who has visited the above beach, particularly whether it can be accessed by taxi. Thank you.
sibylcoe Posted December 20, 2009 #2 Share Posted December 20, 2009 We went to Jolly Beach on our last trip to Antigua. If you like to collect shells, you will be in heaven. It was great for walking and the water was not real rough. They have water sports equipment for rent, including snorkeling. We didn't get in the water so i am not sure how good the snorkeling is. We ate lunch at the restaurant and bar and remember it being good. Our taxi driver originally took us to Long Beach, on the other side of the island, which we didn't care for. So I'm not sure exactly what the cost is going directly to Jolly Beach but I think it is about $20 each way for 2 people. It is not really far away. Bottom line, we loved it so much we are going back on our New Year's cruise on the Caribbean Princess.
roe2ship Posted December 20, 2009 #3 Share Posted December 20, 2009 Jolly Beach is heaven. I believe we paid $8.00 pp for a taxi. Here is our picture from there:
mississauga Posted December 20, 2009 #4 Share Posted December 20, 2009 We were in Antigua on Dec.6 and the taxi fare was $6pp with a minimium of 4 passengers. If there are only 2 of you, they will charge you $24 per taxi. Arrange a time with the driver for when you want to be picked up. Make sure you are co-ordinate whether it is island time or ship time. Our ship did not change to go 1 hr ahead so our ship time was different than the island time. Most taxi drivers will not charge you until they return and drop you back off at the pier. janice4559 Posted December 21, 2009 #6 Share Posted December 21, 2009 We booked day passes for ourselves at the Jolly Beach Resort & Spa when we visited Antigua last year. It provides access to pools, non-motorized beach equipment, lunch and unlimited drinks. The price was $60 per person. By the time you rent chairs and an umbrella you are probably at $20 per person just for the beach.

Elaine515 Posted March 14, 2010 #13 Share Posted March 14, 2010 There are 6 of us... do you think its cheaper for us to grab a taxi and head over to Jolly Beach or is it better to just book the $60 pp One Day Pass? I'm a bit confused by the prices quoted above...Also, if we just show up, can we use the pool and their water sports (non-motorized) or just the beach part of it? The $60 includes... OPTION 2 Valid 10:15a.m. - 5:00p.m. Includes continental breakfast, house brand beverages, lunch, water sports (non-motorized) What do you think is our best option? mexico5 Posted March 18, 2010 #14 Share Posted March 18, 2010 We went to Jolly Beach Resort in December and had the day pass. It was by far our best day of the cruise! We seemed to have the place all to ourselves...best beach ever, great drinks, pool, etc...the only thing we didn't know before arriving is that we should have brought out own towels, but they ended up giving us 2 to use...
