owl61 Posted December 20, 2009 #1 Share Posted December 20, 2009 Are the wine lists available on line or does anyone have a copy? Is it the same on all ships? We are on the Veendam. I understand there is an $18 corkage fee apparently for wines bought in the duty free shop on board inasmuch as no booze is permitted to be carried on board. If I do carry a couple of special bottles on board (lowlife that I am) will that still open them for me with the usual corkage fee?
garydm Posted December 20, 2009 #2 Share Posted December 20, 2009 There is no wine sold in the onboard shops. Hard liquor is sold. Any wine you order from room service, a bar, dining room etc. will include corkage in the price. You are free to bring as much wine onboard as you want and there is no corkage fee for wine consumed n your cabin, but an $18 fee in the dining rooms. Try one of the Italian wines in Canaletto-they have about five choices and they are only $22. The wine lists for PG and MDR are mediocre at best and absurdly expensive. Krazy Kruizers Posted December 20, 2009 #3 Share Posted December 20, 2009 The wine lists for the dining room on all the ships is the same. Same thing for the Pinnacle. Any bottle you order from the wine list -- there will be a 15% gratuity added on. Sorry -- I brought home a copy of the dining room wine list but never got around to typing it up. richard1s Posted December 20, 2009 #4 Share Posted December 20, 2009 You are premitted to bring wine onboard for consumption in your room; the corkage fee applies if your bring your own wine to the dining area. At the same time, the wines offered by HAL are excellent.
DebNJoe Posted December 21, 2009 #5 Share Posted December 21, 2009 If you call HAL, they will email the wine list to you.
Boytjie Posted December 21, 2009 #6 Share Posted December 21, 2009 Corkage fees are only charged for wine you bring onboard and consume in a dining room or lounge; wine bought onboard does not contain a corkage fee.
