Pre-Book Taxi to Athens and Back ?

I have read many posts here from cruisers who book private tours of Athens . But has anyone contracted in advance for a taxi to pick them up at the pier, drop them off in Athens and then return at a pre-arranged time for transport back to the ship ? In other words, no tour, just tranportation. If so, can you recommend someone? And what would you expect to pay ? Thanks for your help.

We never use a taxi in Piraeus. The Metro station is on a walking distance (15 min.) and will take you to Acropolis or other interesting places in Athen.

Why bother? There a tons of taxis in Piraeus and central Athens.

If you take the Metro watch out for pickpockets !
