Never approach a dock faster than you're willing to hit it!

This is a remarkable video of a "cruise size" freighter!

But you are aware that there was no dock that was hit at all.

This video is from a ship scrapping place like Alang in India where they run the ships full speed onto the beach for "easy" access to the ship scrappers.

I´m not saying this ship was meant to be "parked" where it ended up, but it was not a ship docking, that ship was on it´s last journey;)

This is a ship breaker "port" in india. They do not have to follow any real OSHA or EPA regulations at all. The ship is bought by the "recycling" agent. Taken to the port for dismantle at full power and on a high tide. The ship is beached, low tide goes out and hundreds of "workers" run out with blow torches to start cutting the ship apart. First to go is the ships prop, made of brass. These places are a toxic dump, workers are killed almost weekly. Asbestos, oil, and all sorts of bad things go directly into the sea. The ship breakers sell the copper brass and any other metal.

Very sad.

Where ever it was meant to "park", I don't think it was there. I loved it

and knew something looked wrong when the workers started to run. :D

She went out with a "Bang"

Thanks for sharing.

Reminds me of a comment our Captain made during our last LA to Santiago cruise.

He was explaining we were going to be a few minutes late because of how much he has to slow the ship as we approach the port "or we'll become one of Princess's Land Resorts."
