Question about Dawn disembarkation

NCL shows the Dawn arriving back in Miami on Sunday, March 21st at 8:00 a.m. I would like to try and book an 11:57 a.m. flight out of Ft. Lauderdale. I plan to do self checkout and book transport to Ft. Lauderdale with SAS Transportation. Could recent cruisers on the 9 day Southern Caribbean cruise please tell me what time you were able to disembark. I think I have plenty of time to make the flight but want to be sure before I book.

Returning from the nine day on December 13th, we did the self disembark and were off at 9:15AM. YMMV.

We walked off the Dawn on 12/13 at 9:15, found our bags, made our way through customs, and took John's Car Service to FLL We were there by 10:15. Long lines at check-in (SW), but they were moving people to the front if their flight was soon. Lines through security moved quickly, but I'm sure that's changed now. I would think they would move you to the front of the line there as well if you were running close to boarding time.

 

It seemed like it took us longer to get from the ship to baggage claim than it did to wait in any line!:eek:

you MIGHT have made it before the underwear bomber. I doubt you will now. Also on any given trip Customs and Imigration can seriously delay debarkation. I don't know if I am just blessed in that way or what but I am often on ships that don't debark till 11 or later because of delays. It is a Royal Pain!

To close for my comfort after the terrorist threat. Security will take a while longer.

Thanks for the replies. That's what I was afraid of. I will book a later flight. Who knows what security is going to look like in March.
