heliman Posted January 2, 2010 #1 Share Posted January 2, 2010 Does Azamara arrange any shuttle facilities from Rome to Civitavecchia? If not, what is the best way to travel that route. We are booked on the Cruise - 16 May and are keen to start preparing our itinerary. TIA Rossco
heliman Posted January 2, 2010 Author #2 Share Posted January 2, 2010 Following on from my last post - what is the best way to get from Rome airport to Rome city centre? Tks Rossco
suec12 Posted January 2, 2010 #3 Share Posted January 2, 2010 At the Rome airport you can catch a train that takes you into the city - maybe 10E's - runs frequently. Then you can take a train that takes you to the port. On both of these routes there will be some walking so IMO this is an option for those that pack fairly light and can drag their bags for some distance. At the port, the train station is about a 15 minute, fairly flat, walk to the entrance to the dock area. At that entrance I would expect shuttle buses that will go around to the various ships. There are few taxis at the Civit. station so be ready to walk to the port entrance. You can get more info and opinions in the port section of CC. I think many cruisers arrange for private transfers, sometimes linking up with posters from their roll calls. A few cruisers choose to stay the night before embarkation in Civit. where there is a reasonable hotel that provides transportation to the port. world~citizen Posted January 2, 2010 #4 Share Posted January 2, 2010 Take a taxi or limo and relax. You are on vacation after all. :) Smooth sailing...
GeorgeL Posted January 2, 2010 #5 Share Posted January 2, 2010 We always rented a car - costs less than a taxi and let's you explore the country side before the cruise. If you are going directly from the airport to the cruise just arrange for a private transfer - will also cost less than a taxi.
