Scuba in Roatan or Coata Maya??

Hi Cruisers,

I'm crusing on the Voyager in late Feb and we visit Roatan and Costa Maya. I'd like to scuba dive at one of those locations. Does anyone have an opinion as to which port might be the best dive excursion?

Just back from diving in Costa Maya last month. The diving was just okay...Nothing special. I did certification dives in Roatan back in 2002 and, from I remember, a lot better than Costa Maya but reefs can change over time...I would dive either place again as I love blowing bubbles anywhere! There should be more info on the Scuba and Snorkling Forum for you too.

Fantasy Island in Roatan has a great reef right off their beach so you can shore dive and also does boat dives, great diving and snorkeling there and many dive ops, just google it.

Of course, IMHO, I think the diving in Bonaire is the very best in the Caribbean.
