Arcadia balcony cabin

We have been allocated cabin E10 on 'Arcadia' for a future cruise. I note that in the ship's notes it states: "Please note that staterooms E1 - E42 have a metal balcony side". Should I be concerned about the restricted view that this will create from the cabin?

This is a view from my DA balcony cabin (B52) on Arcadia which has glass. This cabin is just one cabin grade higher than your DB grade that you have booked.

So, if you imagine the glass replaced with metal thats how its going to look. If you are not happy about this you will have to go your TA or PandO and ask to pay for a upgrade.

Mike my cabin didn't look down on anyone except the jutting out life boats a few decks below, Arcadias balconies aren't staggered out like on Venturas.

here is a photo taken from my cabin side-on of the ship:

We have had one of those metal fronted balconies on Arcadia in the Caribbean a couple of years ago & were concerned like you. However it was fine as it is very much larger than the other standard balconies. These ones at the front are overlooked partially from above because they are so much larger (ie there are no life boats as was mentioned by someone else earlier). You can sit back so as not to be seen if this is a problem for you. Obviously the metal side can restrict your view of the sea when sitting or lying down. However as I said we had no issues in the end, especially as in the Caribbean we were in port so often..then no-one can see you on your balcony from the dock!

Enjoy,

Mike:)
