restaurant suggestions - no reservations

Based on suggestions I picked up on these threads (thanks to all), we are staying two nights pre-cruise (this weekend) at Radisson Culver City. We're booked for Border Grill in Santa Monica for Sat evening, but would like a place to get a reasonably priced decent meal (not diner food) and where we won't need reservations on Friday night (we will have a car).

Also, on the other end of the cruise, will be staying at Best Western Sunset Plaza in West Hollywood (without a car this time) and need a recommendation for a dinner location on Sunday night - preferably walking distance or a very short cab ride. Monday we have reservations at Osteria Mozza.

Any suggestions would be welcome.
