Dawn Beach vs Orient Beach

We are in St Martin for Feb vacation tryinig to decide between the 2 beaches- we will have our 14 year old with us.

You probably know all about Orient (that's where we usually hang out), but Dawn Beach is very nice as long as it isn't windy, when the surf becomes VERY rough. Our favorite spot there is Ms. B's.

If you are concerned about the nudity on Orient Beach, Dawn Beach should probably be your first choice BUT as GTAYLOR says it can be VERY rough on Dawn Beach if the wind is up (I won't go in the water there when it is windy).

Re: nudity on Orient Beach - it really isn't that prevalent unless you hang out in front of the naturist resort at the extreme sound end. The last time we were there we saw MANY families with kids on the main part of the beach. The kids were pretty much ignoring the occasional nude person who wondered by. Will you see nudity on Orient Beach - yes - it's quite likely that you will see a couple of nude people walking on the beach. However most people will be wearing bathing suits. As for toplessness - it is prevalent everywhere on the island - including Dawn Beach. So - it really is your call. You might consider checking out Dawn Beach first and if it looks rough and windy, move on to Orient Beach.
