Open toed shoes ok on aerial tram excursion?

I'm trying to limit my luggage on our cruise so I was thinking of taking only 2 pair of shoes--dressy sandals and teva type walking sandals. The Veragua Rainforest aerial tram excursion looks like it includes a hike through the rain forest. Anyone know if there is a requirement for closed toe shoes? It wasn't mentioned in the excursion description on the HAL website. Can I assume I'll get by with my sandals?

I would not have felt as comfortable during the rain forest walk if I was wearing sandals. I'd wear full shoes - it is a little cooler there too.

Also, take along a lightweight rain jacket or poncho. They don't call it a rain forest for nothing, and buying a cheap plastic poncho there will set you back $10 or $15 each or something like that. It didn't rain much on us but we bought one there just in case, and it does rain at least lightly a little every few hours.

You might also want to take along some bug spray or insect repellant wipes. We didn't have any and while we didn't get bitten we were a little nervous when the guide sprayed himself.

This was a wonderful excursion - even more enjoyable than I thought it would be. A few photos:http://simon-pics.smugmug.com/Cruises/Constellation-March-2009-b2b/March-16th-2009-Sailing-All/7889855_RRT2s#511615759_faApY
