Carnival Comps

Hi Everyone - Anyone know how the comps work on CCL? What types of things do they give you? Do you get them on the cruise following the one that you play? What level do you need to play at to get those comps?

I can tell you, to get a comp cruise when I was playing seriously I was playing $1000 a roll for about two hours a day.

Right now, who knows, your probably best calling Carnival and asking to talk to a casino host.

I've never gambled enough to get any comps, but on my last carnival cruise (the Inspiration) the casino supervisor would get everyone at the poker table a free drink about once or twice a day, and he gave us a "Carnival Player Club" hat. He even personally called my room on the last day to make sure I cashed in that night, and like I say, I gamble very small. He was the best. I think poker was his game, because he hung around and joked with us a good bit.

I guess maybe I was a little disappointed, at $75 - $50 a roll 2-3 hours a day I just ended up with a few drinks. Just curious if that is always how it is or if they comp on the following cruise...

Make sure you asked to be rated while on the ship. The Venetian and the Carnival casino clubs have merged, and while you may NOT get something on Carnival, The Venetian has twice now sent out 4 night free comps since they merged..

The closest we got to a Carnival COMP from the casino was....

I e-mailed the casino host. My husband and I are both Players Club members and I just told them how excited we were to be coming back on board the Conquest and looking forward to the casino.

When we got on board, they had decorated our cabin and we had two large baskets of fresh fruit, crackers and cheese - enough to last all week (even with grandkids).

$1,000 A ROLL?????? Hell, they should have given you one of the ships propellars for a souvenier.

LOL, that's not how I started playing on board, after a couple of cruises I was playing with their money and I am not afraid to press.

What I would do is call my host and tell her I needed to go on a cruise, she would set it up from there. At first as aprilivy said it was fruit etc, birthday cake, free booze.

It should also be noted that I never asked for suites, it was always "whatever", I never really played for comps, I played for money, I had a win/loss limit, once I hit that I called it a night.

I agree about playing for comps. Years ago an oldtimer told me "Son, there a lot of free things in Las Vegas but YOU can't afford none of them". I've taken his advice on FREE COMPS ever since.
