First of all, yr lucky to be on Windstar cruises!

Bastia is quite nice and not to difficult to visit alone if you stay in the city. Old Port area with lot of restaurants and the streets around.

Have a look at the official site of tourism

http://www.bastia-tourisme.com/?nav=9&lang=en

Tours you will need if you go outside the city of Bastia or car rental.

Corsica is probably the most beautifull isle in the Med (nature wise). Roads are good but are turning a lot, so distances are slow in some areas.

Don't know what they are proposing as tours outside Bastia. If it is Bonifacio at the opposite side down (is the only straight route in Corsica) it is beautifull.

ps just checked the Windstar site. Seems they offer "Patrimonio and Wine" tasting out of Bastia. Patrimonio is indeed known for excellent Corsican wines and ok as place. But there are more significant places in Corsica. Just for info
