flynwa4 Posted January 16, 2005 #1 Share Posted January 16, 2005 We have a party of six who will be flying in late the night before the cruise and will be staying at an airport hotel. I have read the cabs run about 28.00 for two people. What would be the best way for 6 of us and how much can I plan on spending?
zydecocruiser Posted January 16, 2005 #2 Share Posted January 16, 2005 Hopefully your hotel has a shuttle... For three or more people, from the airport, is $12pp, so looks like about $72 each way. Maybe more depending on luggage. A limo looks like it would run $75. http://www.flymsy.com/ground_transportation.htm http://www.flymsy.com/
Marlissa Posted January 18, 2005 #3 Share Posted January 18, 2005 What we did was to rent a car at the airport when we arrived on Saturday and then returned it on Sunday. Hertz has a location at the airport and at 901 Convention Center Blvd (where we returned the car - no extra charge for not returning it at the airport). We got a Taurus for $30.00 per day. There were five of us and fitting all the luggage was a problem. Luckily, we stayed at a hotel close to the dock, thus we made two trips to deliver the luggage from the hotel to the pier. After the second luggage drop off, DH went and topped of the tank then returned the car. He then walked back to the pier (Not really that far. I think there was a shuttle van from Hertz to the pier but he didn't take it.) If you could get a large enough vehicle to fit all the people and the luggage for a decent price, it may be worth it. This would also give you the ability to do a little sight seeing before getting on board. Something to consider. Marlissa
zydecocruiser Posted January 18, 2005 #4 Share Posted January 18, 2005 Here is a coupon that says it includes minivans, but I think you might need a full size. Your mileage may vary: http://www.americawest.com/flightfund/promotions/ff_carpartner.htm depending on when you travel.
