hpycruzn Posted January 16, 2005 #1 Share Posted January 16, 2005 My family and I are cruising out of Mobile, Alabama on January 22. We will be driving and parking at the port. Anything we need to know before we arrive? Any suggestions? How close to the ship is the parking lot? Any information that would be helpful would be appreciated. Thanks. Chips Ahoy! Posted January 16, 2005 #2 Share Posted January 16, 2005 I would like to know too! Anyone know how much it is per night?
CRZGRL Posted January 16, 2005 #3 Share Posted January 16, 2005 FYI: The Bellingrath Holiday Inn allows parking for free at their motel if you stay there the night before the cruise. They have a comp shuttle that will deliver you to the port and back to the motel. The price for one night at the motel is $69. Since we are going on a five day on the Holiday, we will just about come out even with less hassle. I think the port charges $10 per day to park.:)
Sharon Temple Posted January 16, 2005 #4 Share Posted January 16, 2005 Yes, $10 per day. My husband dropped luggage and us off at the door and then parked the car and paid (you pay when you park, not when you leave). It is fairly close. Picked us up the same, he got the car and then pulled up to us/luggage. I've seen worse.
shecat Posted January 17, 2005 #5 Share Posted January 17, 2005 This Holiday Inn is about 20 minutes from the port and 25 minutes from Bellingrath Gardens. Technically this is not a bad part of town. However, I would not feel comfortable leaving my vehicle at this Holiday Inn if they do not have onsite security. Check with them about security. futaba951 Posted February 15, 2005 #6 Share Posted February 15, 2005 The cruise terminal has an attached 6 deck parking garage. All decks are covered except the top one. Walk out of the garage right into the terminal. Very secure and not accessible to people on the outside. Cost is $10 a day payable when you park. You are in spitting distance of I-10 and downtown Mobile. Check out the Dead Sea Scrolls exhibit while you are there.
