NewToCruise22 Posted January 19, 2010 #1 Share Posted January 19, 2010 I want to book a Misty Fjords flightseeing trip for our time in Ketchikan. I contacted Taquan Air to check availability for using the toursaver coupon for our trip. The only availability is a 2:45 tour returning by 5:00. Our itinerary shows leaving Ketchikan at 6:00 PM. Being that this is an independent operator, am I pushing it too close as far as getting back on the ship with this tour time? If itinerary shows a 6:00 PM departure from port what is the latest I can get back on ship. Has anyone had any experience with this situation or with Taquan Air? Thank you to all the experienced cruisers out there! I have relied on CC so much in planning our first Alaskan cruise! Oh, and how do I bold the title of my thread? disneypapa Posted January 19, 2010 #2 Share Posted January 19, 2010 Great question. As I was reviewing my excursions options today, I had the same question about what the time on the cruiseline itinerary means. Is it the time when you must return to the ship or is that the time the ship departs the port?
CALMOM Posted January 20, 2010 #3 Share Posted January 20, 2010 That's the time they depart and prefer you to be back on board 1/2 hour prior to departure. If you book an excursion through the ship they will know if you get held up and will wait. However, if you book independent, then it is your responsibility to be back on the ship in time. Budget Queen Posted January 20, 2010 #4 Share Posted January 20, 2010 You need to verify this with TAQUAN. Do they recommend it????
