Brest, France - Any tips etc?

Have been to Brest with P & O and there was a bus put on from the ship which stopped at all interesting spots - a sort of hop on hop off bus especially for the cruise passengers which was free. I believe, however, that this no longer runs which if it is correct, is a pity. Brest itself is a pleasant port but we didn't find a great deal to see so you may want to do one of the ship's excursions. It is a fairly standard French town, OK for a mooch through the cafes and shops. We heard great things about the Aquarium (which was one of the stops on the round-town bus) and many people said it was worth a visit but there wasn't a great deal to see otherwise, apart from the excursions. We still enjoyed the cruise though and the ship (Oceana) was great.

I know this is an old thread, but I ran onto this on the Port of Brest's info and thought I'd pass it along. According to this, they still have the shuttle service. However, it is possible this is out of date and just hasn't been changed.

Anybody else have any info on this??
