enough time for lax

We are cruising the splendor in august and it scheduled to arrive in long beach at 9am for departure. I was wondering what would be the earliest flight out of lax that we should book. Thanks.

Carnival says not to schedule anything prior to 12:30. With a 9 am arrival you have to hope that the ship arrives on-time or a little early. Often it takes at least an hour to clear the ship, an hour to get to the airport and and an hour to get through airport check-in and security. That leaves little wiggle room if there is a delay in arrival or clearance. Or a traffic jam or security delay.

I wouldn't book before 1 p.m. and later would be even better. Security is a pain at LAX and traffic can be.
