WHO was your FAVORITE waiter in MDR?

As to the original question, cant say I remember the name of my waiters on my first cruise on the SS Norway, but they were very nice and very good at their job. Same goes for my Celebrity cruise, nice ship, cruise, and the wait staff were fine, but not memorable....now on to Carnival cruises...somehow I remember all of these very well. My first Carnival cruise on the Sensation, a 7 day out of Tampa in 2000, I remember my dining room table very well, both for my very nice table companions and for our head waiter Eric Garcia. He was from Colombia and signed my Carnival Creations Cookbook. He was special! Second Carnival cruise on the Triumph 2004, had a great head waiter named Ninan. He was from India, and was absolutely great! Next Cruise on the Valor 2007, waiter John was from India and also was the greatest. ( he rearranged my knives and forks at my spot each night, because he noticed first night that I was left handed and moved my utensils around! ) Ruth from Peru, was his assistant waiter and she was also unforgettable. Latest cruise this past October on the Liberty, we had Loreto from the Phillipines, great guy, very professional, and sweet, but the highlight at dinner was our assistant waiter Catalin from Romania! Just loved that guy! And the best thing was that Loreto was more than willing to let the assistant waiter both give the attention and soak it up in return! Seemed to be no competition going on there, and a very good working relationship going on there. Just my experience.! But in all my Carnival cruises, I have always had great waiters in the MDR. :)

:D Please give us the name(s) of your fav waiters in the MDR. Please name the ships and tell us how they enhanced your dining experience!

Mica @ the 6pm seating on the Carnival Dream in the Crimson DR. She was fantastic! Fast accurate & a very good sport. We were a party of 6 with a couple of high maintenance diners. She always had time for the shenanigans & was quick withthe comebacks. Yeah Mica !!!!!!:)

Our waiter on the Inspiration in Aug 08 was Denton from Jamaica. He was awesome and really made a positive impact on our cruise. He always remembered our names, even when we were not at the MDR. Our room steward didnt even know our names. He always had a smile on his face and really seemed to enjoy his job. And he always started out dinner with a joke to get us all in a festive mood.

While on the Destiny in Dec 2009, we had the pleasure of meeting Pisamei from Thailand-she was by far, the best server I have ever had on a cruise! We were on a B2B and specifically requested to be seated in her section on our second leg of the B2B. Very friendly, efficient, and willing to help! Tipped her well and wrote great things about her in the surveys, so I hope she gets some recognition!

I do, when they are memorable. However when I have been on as many cruises as you have ( I hope someday ) , I may begin to forget some...:D

I have only been on 7 cruises since 1976!!!...to read these posts...some would have you believe that they take that many cruises a year!!!

Maybe they do...if they live near a port and can do 3/4 day cruises

We just discussed at dinner forgoing a cruise until 2012:(...and then definitely doing the Med again.:)..we are already discussing the excursions!!!:) The Med is so good...and fwiw...the kids loved it!!!

Kokopan (Koko for short) on the Pride! He was fantastic! My daughter cried her eyes out when we had to tell him goodbye! Couldn't have been more attentive and aware of my son's pickiness! He would make sure he had pizza every night!

i know i had some really awesome waiters in my earlier cruises that i can't remember their names but the most recent cruises i do. back on the freedom in '08 we had george as our head waiter and nino as assistant. they were both great and fun at dinner. george is now on the dream and we saw him on our jan 2 cruise and was just as awesome. he wasn't our waiter but was in the scarlet dining room with us. then on the freedom in '09 we had rolin as the head waiter and anton as our assistant. rolin was fantastic! both him and anton were fun at dinner as well!

Ping Pong on the Liberty. He had a sense of humor not most have or wish to share with the cruisers...AND PLEASE DONT THINK IM TOO TOO NUTZ....but he made sound effects everytime he brought a plate or anything at the table ended with a sound...brought laughter to every table he was waiting close to us....best show in the MDR we ever had.

Thank you, I lived in Thailand for a couple of years and it was a matter of survival and just good manners to learn it.

Plus I was sent to the DOD language school, so I was happy to take advantage of the oportunity.:D

You must really take those Drink Of the Days very serious!!:D

Actually I couldn't remember the name while I was on the cruise.

I surely couldn't tell you now.

But..I liked him, 2 Lobsters without even asking..my kind of waiter!!;)

Joselito & Marlon in the Lincoln dining room on the Valor last week were delightful! Efficient & friendly and we enjoyed chatting with them. :)

I also vote for Marlon and Joselito. We had them just a couple weeks ago. We felt like we were the only table they were serving. They were so attentive.

Rosanna, (or Rosanne) from Peru on the Conquest in March of 2008. Last I heard she was on the Victory now.

March2556.jpg

My DD was in her 2nd year of Spanish Immersion program, and Rosanne was impressed by DD's language skills. Think they spoke every night, and once in the buffet area, Rosanne "grabbed" her and led her around to several people.

Another who sticks in my mind is Daewa, on the Fantasy in May of 2007. He was not the head waiter, he was either the asst. or bar waiter, but he was fun.

we are "lucky" to have times and the means in which to enjoy ehatever we are able to. some choose other ways to spend both. I am able to drive to several ports in a day..closest is 98 mi. I'mm alll about being there, not getting there. I habe stopped explaining to pals why I do this..simply that "because I can...I do !" yep 28 for me in the last 3 years....because I did.:D

We were lucky to have them for 49 days. Luis is from Columbia.

*drooling*

Thank you for your input but was not looking for a criticism of my post.

I think it's freaking awesome that you speak Thai!!!! I really need to work on learning an additinal langauge or two. {If I'd have been at your table while you spoke to the waiter in Thai, the last thing I'd have been would be annoyed.) ;)

who remembers their:eek: names

You can only remember the names if the person was exceptionally worthy of remembering...so I think the names listed here must be of some really awesome crew members :)
