Recently back from the great Ancient Empires Cruise (nOv 14, 2009). A fabulous trip and a great bargain. I've been watching developments and thinking about a next cruise. The Club cruise includes the mandated tipping (what's the difference between mandated tipping and salary?), house wines with lunch and dinner, bottled water, and free self-service laundry.

 

All of this seems to be more than adequately covered by the price increases. Not an improvement if you're not into wine (or house wines) and bottled water. A few quarters for laundry is not a factor. Meanwhile, butler service has been eliminated except for those who book a suite.

 

I think part of a great experience is being lost and a few cosmetic changes are justifying the price increases.
