NKG6002 Posted January 24, 2010 #1 Share Posted January 24, 2010 We, of course, want to hear some good jazz music in NO. Can anyone give us an idea on suggested places and the amounts of cover charges, if any ? Thanks in advance !
jgmpuma Posted January 24, 2010 #2 Share Posted January 24, 2010 http://www.offbeat.com/club-events/ This is a good place to check on what's playing while you are here. Most of the good music clubs are on Frenchmen Street in the Marigny/Bywater area, just across Esplanade from the French Quarter, an easy walk. Most don't have a cover charge, or it is just $5 or $10. House Of Blues on Decatur has the biggest names but they are usually not local bands, and admission is $15 and up.

Can anyone give us an idea on suggested places and the amounts of cover charges, if any ? Thanks in advance ! All the bars on Bourboon and in the French Quarter usually have no cover charges. The only places that have cover charges are the Gentlemen clubs...and these will waive cover charges, but you are required to purchase a drink minimum. *jess* Posted April 11, 2010 #4 Share Posted April 11, 2010 ditto to the previous post, you'll arrive on Bourbon to people telling you to come in to their club/bar for no cover, even if you're carrying a drink, they don't care and will let you bring it in most of the time. They just want you in their establishment! For the "gentlemen's clubs" there is a cover sometimes, but most of the time you get the same deal and they just want you in, but there is a drink minimum.
