Colorado Kat Posted January 25, 2010 #1 Share Posted January 25, 2010 Someone just mentioned a baby turtle release. My daughter would love this! What season does this happen? Anyone have suggested spots? (We'll be in Cabo, Mazatlan and Puerto Vallerto in June.) Thanks....Kathy
katiepe Posted January 25, 2010 #2 Share Posted January 25, 2010 I did my turtle release in Acapulco but apparently all the areas in mexico are doing them from what I was told.. Suggest you go to Trip Advisor and the forums there.

champ.49er Posted January 26, 2010 #4 Share Posted January 26, 2010 My daughter would love this as well, but after some searching, it appears it's only in Acapulco. We're also doing the Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan, and Cabo San Lucas ports. Can anyone confirm if any of those 3 ports have a baby turtle release? Thanks in advance. eargal Posted January 26, 2010 #5 Share Posted January 26, 2010 The Dreams Puerto Vallarta Resort offers Day Passes and they do a turtle release. I have no idea if they do it every day or if individuals with Day passes are included.
seabreezer Posted January 26, 2010 #6 Share Posted January 26, 2010 There's a turtle release in Cabo as well. Don't know the detail ... can't you just google it?
katiepe Posted January 26, 2010 #7 Share Posted January 26, 2010 I just googled Turtle Release PVR and got quite a bit of info. try doing that. That is how I found out about turtle releases in ACA.
katlady Posted January 27, 2010 #8 Share Posted January 27, 2010 http://www.savetheseaturtles.org/prog.php I haven't done the turtle release so I can't say if these are good tours or not. The top is a youtube video of a turtle hatching. The bottom link is for ASUPMATOMA, which stands for the Association for the Protection of the Environment and the Marine Turtle in Southern Baja, is a non-profit organization founded by Sr. Rene Pinal, a prominent real estate investor and environmental activist in Cabo San Lucas, along with a local team of residents and biologists. I hope that helps.:)

bobcat7 Posted January 30, 2010 #10 Share Posted January 30, 2010 We just got back last week from PV and Dreams. They do have a turtle program there, however the turtles have set dates that they hatch out. I would call or e-mail ahead of time to see when they expect the little ones. Dreams is very good about returning e-mails the same day. Our day pass was $58 each. A little pricey, but the beach is amazing. My big "get" for the day was meeting and having a cocktail with Vicki from Orange County Housewives. She was totally cool!
