If you switch to a TA...

If something goes wrong, the TA works for you to fix it, with no disruption to you.

We once had our Crown and Anchor coupon show up as a balance due and not a credit. We were a week from sailing with no documents. She spent a good part of her day on the phone straightening that mess out. We happened to meet up with another member of cruise critic on board the ship and the same thing happened to them. They had booked a guarantee and ended up on deck two. Mainly because they didn't get a room assigned until their cruise showed paid in full.

Also if the price paid will be the same either way, why not let someone make some money? Even if the comission is low, at least somebody besides RCCL is getting the money.

If you don't switch the booking, RCCL can help you more on the phone. For instance if you call to switch your room number, they may make you have the TA call and say they no longer "own" the booking, the TA does.
