SusieV Posted January 26, 2010 #1 Share Posted January 26, 2010 I am guessing they have the same lousy PokerPro tables as on Constellation, but can anyone confirm? How is the attendance for cash games in the evening and what stakes were being offered? I'm not interested in the tournaments since the structures are ridiculously poor. That's a good way to put it. :) The stakes for the cash games are $2-$4 no-limit, with a ten percent rake up to $15 (!!!) per pot. That's just flat ridiculous. As for the tourneys, the structures and payouts may be poor, but the tables are only eight-handed and the competition is rather soft. I won one of them, and played with a guy who had won three others. (Yes, I count a chop of the prize pool as a "win".) Why they can't have more sit-n-go tourneys is beyond me. Longboysfan Posted January 26, 2010 #3 Share Posted January 26, 2010 Not enough table room for regular play. Rake is a bit high.
SusieV Posted January 26, 2010 Author #4 Share Posted January 26, 2010 I don't know- with the stack sizes, blinds, and levels, I don't see it as a good time investment considering what I could win in a good cash game. I played poker on a live table on Galaxy a couple years ago and it was the softest game I ever played. It was $5-$10 limit with $10 cap on the rake and I won enough money to pay for the cruise. When we went on Constellation and there was a PokerPro table, we couldn't get a cash game going at all despite the supervisors trying to drum up interest. I really hate those things. A good dealer can really get people involved and wanting to play. Longboysfan- what do you mean about not enough table room for regular play? Was the table full in the evenings? We always played poker after dinner until the casino closed.
txsloth Posted January 26, 2010 #5 Share Posted January 26, 2010 I think it really depends on the sailing. In '08 on Solstice we had a pretty regular group that played late most nights. Usually enough to fill one table, but a couple nights both were going. However, on our recent Equinox sailing it was pretty dead at night. Maybe 2 or 3 nights out of 10 was there a game after dinner and even then it was never a full table. I understand they had some decent cash games immediately after the last tournament each day, but I wasn't around for those. The stakes on both Solstice and Equinox for me were $1/$2 no limit. Like you, I almost made enough on Connie in '07 to pay for my cruise--packed table nightly for 1/2 no limit.
