First hour on Dream?

We will have some newbies cruising with us this time around - one of my greatest memories is when I first set foot on my first cruise there was caribbean music playing on Lido. I'm getting the impression that this is not done anymore? Is there another area on Dream that we should 'hit' first for that dose of music to go with our first DotD?

Anyone - how about that ocean plaza or lanai area - would it be better to hang out there to get that first festive dose of cruising? Is there any live music when you first board?

I didn't hear any but by the time we got on board we were very hungry and went straight to the buffet. Later that day they had a football game on the big screen. I found that to be a bit annoying but I am not a fan of football and I think it may have been a playoff or something important so I was willing to ignore it.

There will be at least a two piece group playing island or Calypso music out there...

I wish the cruiselines would incorporate more live 'tropical' music. It seems to be hit or miss :( the music really enhances the atmosphere of the 'caribbean' vacation. :)

We plan on being on the ship before noon - does the music start that early or is it more 2 - 3ish?

There was music on the Lido on the Dream. The 2 piece band that is there all week.
