What is the area around the port like?

DH and I will be in St. Croix in March on Serenade of the Seas. I'm not impressed by any of the ships tours and I'm not seeing local guides that are highly recommended as they are in other ports. Is there anything to do within walking distance of the port? I would be fine with walking around town, doing a little shopping, stopping for lunch and then relaxing back on the ship.

Is there anything to do near the port, perhaps a beach?

Sand Castle Beach claims to be a half mile from the pier. I understand there is a shuttle that goes to both Sand Castle and Rainbow Beaches for $6 round trip.

Do you know if there is a company named Cruzan Breeze that is a parasailing company, near this resort and beach? It would be a perfect day if so. thanks

Or if anyone know about where to locate Cruzan Breeze? I have emailed them but no response yet.

cruzwpj - their website is http://www.stcroixparasailing.com/. I think they may be the only people that offer parasailing on St. Croix.
