Rum Point

Since Hurricane Ivan are we able to get to Rum point by water Taxi, I believe I read somewhere the pier was destroyed, has this been rectified as of yet, it there is no water taxi how long would it take to get there by taxi and would it cost me a mortgage payment almost!!

we were in GC last week on the Triumph - the ferry to Rum Point is not operating and it's not recommended to go there. GC is brown, lots of dead areas, almost no vegetation to speak of.

When we were in Grand Caymen last spring, we were quoted a price of almost $100 one way for a taxi to Rum Point. We opted for 7 mile beach instead.
