Red Sea Ports (Currency) 4th March2010

Can anyone tell me what currency to use in the Red Sea Ports? I see from other threads Dollars, Euros and UK Pounds are acceptable in Petra, but we hope to do Cairo and Luxor as well as Petra.

Its the same in Egypt...they will accept anything...always a good place to use up any dollars you may have left from another holiday....if you want a few Egyptian pounds for tips they are readily available in Post offices which is where we get our travel money at good rates.

When we were in Cairo in June all they wanted were Euros then dollars and Egyptian pounds last. That was both street hawkers and proper shops and the Cairo Museum.

If you go to the pyramids take along some £1 coins, you will get fed up of hearing "one english pound" from the hawkers
