Information about the Carnival Conquest-Thinking about going in June

We had decided to take my boys (ages 8 & 9) to Disney World this summer but now are thinking about doing the Conquest out of Galveston instead. We have cruised out of Galveston numerous times, but only on the Royal Caribbean ships, and I don't know much about the Carnival line. Any help would be appreciated.

Can someone tell me what there is to do on the Conquest. What the kids club is like? What about the pools? The dining? I read that there is a nicer restaurant, is that worth the extra cost? What is the cost for a soda card? Anything else I need to know?

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Jess

We took a family cruise on the Conquest last july with 8 kids between 2 and 13, and they all had a blast, all of them loved their respective kid's clubs, we participated in the family activities (scavenger hunt, bear stuffing, etc.) and lido deck activities with them. The Point is the supper club on Conquest and it is worth the $30 pp surcharge. I am sure your kids will have a great time on the Conquest.
