Lynne85 Posted February 13, 2010 #2 Share Posted February 13, 2010 Hi - We went on this cruise a couple of years ago - It is a long drive, and to be honest there isn't that much else to do when you get there.. You have a couple of hours in the sea and to bathe with the mud all over you, then lunch in a hotel and then the trip back.. you do stop off in a few shops but nothing of much interest... We did the same cruise the year before and took the Petra excursion, which was far better but lots of walking.. hope this helps but fee free to ask any more question.. Have a great time.. jessie36 Posted February 14, 2010 #3 Share Posted February 14, 2010 we did this trip over christmas. A long Drive with a toilet stop half way and then to the dead sea. You arrive at a movenpick hotel are given a towel and taken to a small area of the dead sea and can do your own thing, i.e just float about, or pay £1 and get covered in mud. To be honest the area we went to was quite small and there were lots of people. Because so money were having the mud coating and then getting in to the sea it was a really slimy experience, but really strange and we were glad we tried it. However on the way back you can see far better areas to bathe in but there did not seem to be any access. Once you have had your floating session you are free to use the hotel facilities and sit by the numerous pools. Lunch is included at the hotel, and you are also given a lunch box by the ship before you embark. After finishing at the hotel you are driven to a shop selling dead sea products before you are driven back to the ship. It is a really long day but not very active. On arrival back at the ship we were welcomed on the quay side with hot towels, drinks and the crew playing steel drums and singing welcome home, a really lovely end to the day.
