Africa--cruise west coast or east coast?

Has anyone done both coasts? Which coast is more interesting? Which cruises give best possibilities of safaris? And what cruise lines do you suggest? We have looked at Silver Seas (smoking policy a problem due to allergies), Princess (food very disappointing on previous cruise) and Oceania (love it, but wondering about itinerary), but haven't decided yet. We cruised the east coast of Africa last year and will do the west coast this year. I loved the east coast and doubt the west will equal it.
