RagBag Posted February 1, 2010 #1 Share Posted February 1, 2010 How far is it to the center of Marseille from the cruise terminal? Are shuttle buses available? We are there on a Sunday so we expect al the shops to be closed but we would like to have a walk around the town. RagBag
Actor62 Posted February 2, 2010 #2 Share Posted February 2, 2010 Our ship provided a shuttle without a tour that will take you to the old port area. There is lots to see in that area, both walking around the inner harbour and that part of the city that is close to old port. We also took the boat out to the Isle d"If which has the fortress made famous in the Count of Monte Cristo novel. The place to catch the boat is on one corner of the old harbour (there are plenty of signs). I don't know how much a taxi would be. We were on MSC Cruises but I think they all use the same terminal and it is too far to walk. You could get a city bus which stops approx. 1/2 kilometre from the ship but it may not have a full schedule on Sundays.
RagBag Posted February 2, 2010 Author #3 Share Posted February 2, 2010 Thanks Actor62, we'll also be with MSC, did they charge for the shuttle bus?
