Renting Car on Sunday to drive for the day and drop at LAX

Hi, we are cruising with Carnival which comes into Long Beach on a Sunday. Long Beach car rentals are closed on Sunday. That means I can go to Long Beach airport to rent a car or to San Pedro. What do you recommend and how do I get to each?

We figure it would be easier to drive around for a while during the day since our plane doesn't leave until 10:30 pm and plus we could leave all our luggage in the car for the day. TIA

The car rental place in San Pedro (Enterprise) may be closed on Sunday too. You may be able to drop off the car' date=' but you would have to check to see if you can do an one-way from one location and then leave it in SP.[/quote']

We did something like what you want but our's wasn't on Sunday. We rented in San Pedro and drove it all around for the day and returned it to Long Beach airport that night but there was an extra charge for drop off at different location not a whole lot. The total cost was just a little more than the shuttle for two would have cost to Long Beach airport and we had the car for the day, this was back in 2005.

Things may have changed since then. Call some car rentals and ask.
