Casino slots on Solstice Class

You will need to take US dollars for the casino. Put your money in the machine. When leaving the slot machine you push the cashout button and print out a ticket of whatever amount you have left in that machine, which if you want to cash you take to the cashier window. If you want to change machines, just take your ticket and put it in the next machine. The dollar amount will transfer over to that machine. The machines are all the new ones and are alot of fun.

Will we be able to use our seapass in the casino slots as we did on Princess? Or should we take USD?

We will be sailing on the Eclipse form Southampton UK.

If you want to get $$$'s on your seapass at the casino, they will charge you 3%.

3% for charging your seapass doesn't seem to bad as it's like getting a cash advance. Presumably this cost just gets charged onto your ships bill so does anyone know if 'on board credit' can be used in this way please?

If a cash advance, including the 3%, is charged to your Seapass card, it must be paid for one way or another. OBC reduces your final bill by whatever the amount is, but it doesn't matter what the charge was for. Another way to look at this: OBC represents a deposit in your onboard account, from which you withdraw money to pay for drinks, prepaid gratuities, shopping at ship's stores, and casino advances. Whatever you "overdraw" is what you have to pay at the end of the cruise.

Whether 3% is a good deal compared to using the ATM depends on how much you withdraw. IIRC, the ATM charges a $6 fee, so if you can use it to withdraw $200 or more, you'd come out ahead. Don't know what limit there is for ATM withdrawls, though, so if it it's $200, you'd be better off using the Seapass card.

Back to the OP's question-- unless I'm sadly mistaken, you can insert your Seapass card in the slot machine so they can track your play and comp you. I tried it on our last cruise, but it seemed not to be working. I was only risking $50, though, so I didn't bother to bring it to anyone's attention.
