Passport and Visa questions

Hi all,

 

My family is going on a Mediterranean cruise this summer. It leaves from Civitevecchia and visits Greece and Turkey, along with Italy.

 

I have a question I could use help answering. My passport expires 6 months, and a few days after my trip ends and I return to the U.S. I have read it's wise to have at least 6 months left on one's passport when going abroad. While I do, it's pretty much exactly 6 months. Think I'm ok?

Many countries want 6+ months validity. It does not matter if it is 5 months and 1 day or 10 years.

Do you plan to renew your Passport after the cruise ? Than why not consider just renewing it now before applying for any visas just to be on the safe side. You don't have to wait for the passport to expire to be renewed .

Yes, you are OK if you have 6 months remaining at the end of your trip. Of course you could renew prior to your trip but there is no real reason.
