jlovely Posted February 4, 2010 #1 Share Posted February 4, 2010 My friend and are definitely doing a sting ray tour in Cayman...which also brings you snorkeling somewhere else. Should we also snorkel in Cozumel? Is it worth the money? And where's the BEST place to go that is NOT from a beach? We heard that the Palancar Reef is the best but then I've heard that it's 40-60 feet below the surface! Thanks guys! :)
bruce-r Posted February 5, 2010 #2 Share Posted February 5, 2010 IMO, snorkeling is better in Grand Cayman. There are shallower parts of Palancar reef.
samscruiser Posted February 5, 2010 #3 Share Posted February 5, 2010 We've been really disappointed with snorkeling in Cozumel. Some of the better snorkeling we've done was in Grand Cayman. As you tender in you'll see a building with an apple with the white stripe through it, like a dive flag. You can snorkel off the "beach" there to two spots, Eden's Cove and Devil's Grotto. You can rent or bring your own snorkel gear, and they have lockers you can rent also. Really good snorkeling, done cheap!
jlovely Posted February 5, 2010 Author #4 Share Posted February 5, 2010 Thank you both! Sounds like we'll be snorkeling in Grand Cayman instead :)

Cayoooga Posted February 7, 2010 #6 Share Posted February 7, 2010 I vote for Cozumel, check out Eagle Ray Divers for their 3 Reef Snorkel Tour. We have used them twice before. We have been to GC and Coz several times in the past and snorkelling is our favourite thing to do.:D Good Luck.
