Don't know whether anyone has responded to your question about the waterpark at Atlantis or not. I was interested in going there a few years ago and was told by the Atlantis people that, unless you are a guest at the Atlantis, you can't go to the waterpark. Needledd to say, i was very disappointed. They told me that the readon for that is that they would be overrun with cruise ship passengers going there for the day and taking up room that their guests, who are paying beaucoup bucks for their accommodations, would want. Let me know if you find out anything different.

Interesting post Don

I can say I was just at the park last month. I got the feeling they LOVED the cruise ship business. The park is so HUGE, it would take alot to overrun with people. There were 2 cruise ships and it was peak time in January and there was still empty beaches and almost empty pools. they have so much to see. They charge the cruise ship passengers a ton of money. Our pass was $150 each. The trick (scam) is that you have full access to the park, with beaches, aquariums, pools, and all slides. Well it is impossilbe to see all of that in one day. We just wanted to use the slides and they made a ton of money off us by giving us full access for twice the price of just the water slides. In fact the tour guide told us that we had the same full access as any of their guest at the resort. Well for $150 we better, right?

In any event, it was a great day and worth the money. The water park is amazing and full of thrills.

So I question if what you wrote is true because they love to sock it to the cruise passengers and make a ton of money. I was only there once but find it hard to see a day that that HUGE park would stop allowing entrance. Does Disney ever sell out? I guess there is a small chance but unlikey!

I bet at least 1/3 (if not more) of their business is from cruise ships. They make the ship passengers walk through their casinos just to get to the water park. I dont see them turning away any cruise ship business. The park is so HUGE. We tried to see most of it and we walked like crazy and still did not see so much. I was exhausted and my feet hurt from so much walking. Besides your beach shoes, you must bring tennis shoes if you plan to walk to see the dolphins on one end to the sharks on the other and all the aquariums in between. Our tour guide told us the park was intentionally designed to get people lost. the place is so huge I did not know if she was joking or serious. She said it not joking. They cut no corners. I was expecting just water slides that were ok. They built an empire of slides and a whole river that runs through the whole park that you can float on intertube through. I was surprised how intense the slides were. Not for little kids. But there were some very brave little kids trying them all. The Leap of Faith is so fast, I did not even know what the hell was happening and when you go through the shark tank, it was so fast, I could not even see anything. My favorite slides were in the Power Tower.

Have fun but bring sun block and beach shoes
